My goal was to develop a cohesive yet distinctive visual identity that tied the series together while reflecting the brewery’s unique approach to mixed fermentation and barrel-aged beers. Through carefully crafted label designs, I aimed to capture the essence of the ingredients and folklore behind each beer, creating a strong narrative that resonated with adventurous, flavour-focused beer enthusiasts.
Beyond the labels, I also developed supporting assets, including a zine and social media content, to enhance the storytelling and premium positioning of the series. By aligning the design with high-end restaurant aesthetics, the branding elevated Balance Brewing & Blending’s reputation within the craft beer scene, appealing to those who appreciate innovation, tradition, and high-quality, experimental brewing.


Circular Botanical & Celestial Elements
Circular shapes—particularly the sun and moon—were central to the designs, symbolizing protection and continuity. Their unbroken forms, inspired by rituals and mythology, represented invisible barriers of safety and sacred spaces. These motifs were enriched with frames, mirrored patterns, and ink drawings in a folk-inspired style that featured plants, celestial bodies, and abstract forms. Circular and reflective shapes anchored the visual language in nature and folklore, harmonizing traditional motifs with artistic experimentation for a cohesive and meaningful aesthetic.






Wings as a Symbol of Guardianship
Wing shapes were incorporated in the back label designs to complement the protective symbolism of circles. Evoking a sense of care and shelter, they enhanced the narrative with their associations to spiritual and cultural guardianship. Together, the circles and wings created a visual language that embodied safety, continuity, and storytelling.

The Brief
A limited-edition series of six beers inspired by ancient ingredients and British folklore. The products will be released in two packs of three, accompanied by a zine and social assets.
